My Kind of Haiku

A Stone

like my heart

can be polished

You are sleeping

I watch

knowing you are safe

Tears

like screams

run silent

The window

catches the sun

warmly

Red lights reflect

lives of strangers

entwined

I listen

to the sound

of love breathing

I watch

you come and go

I am in awe

  1. “Tears
    like screams
run silent” – my favorite lines in this poem ^_^

  2. I know you do! I had forgotten the traditional Haiku was 5,7,5 syllables and I think there is one more combination (3,5,3?) but I decided the concept was similar. I might have to play with some traditional ones. Thanks for your comment. Jx

  3. I’ll comment… I really like these. Well, haiku is my great poetry love. I hope you will write more of them, as time permits. 🙂
