Strangers

It was like meeting a stranger.

That uncomfortable feeling of awkward recognition and detachment — that made me want to run least I fall apart, reveal my core which you saw, reflected back at you between glimpses.

That unspoken knowing.

I felt the push of energy and the pull of old habits back into regression, back into the familiar comfort zone of old where nothing changes and we both die a little bit more inside and destiny forgets to reset.

I’m wondering if we’re humble enough to surrender, strong enough to become vulnerable long enough to push through the sparks, ignite the fire and transform pain into passion so we can both decide to rise.

We dance as if we’re going nowhere but in reality, we are already somewhere. Somewhere untapped, viscerally raw and undeniably on the edge of something far greater than either of us anticipated of love.

I want us to push through.

We are free falling to unknown depths and still creating marble pillars from blind faith alone, to eck out an existence that illuminates the veils so we can both find freedom in enlightenment.

All we need to do is walk through the door and let go of the past once and for all and finally fall completely and utterly in love where nothing else matters, except us.

  1. I know by personal experience, even before I read Meister Eckahart quote:

“Truly, it is in the darkness that one finds the light, so when we are in sorrow, then this light is nearest of all to us.”

And therefore my handle name, theburningheart of many years…

  2. I love the thought, 💖 however it seems the more we run from the past, it always seem to catch up with us..!🤷‍♂️

  3. Real life poetry can be a diary of one’s own experiences and is often quite impressionable and interpreted by readers in many different ways.

I think that through the authenticity of life we can all reflect on what is written and see similarities, and that is a good thing.

I need to read more of your poetry my dear friend, and call into my space more often in general.

Have a really good day today 🙂

  4. Oh yes, Windows Live Spaces, it does seem such a long time ago now but you have kept busy here with your space adding lots of poetry.

I used to love posting but lost interest, however I didn’t choose to close my space here so I guess there is a glimmer of hope that I will remain.

  5. You are very welcome Jodine, I haven’t been around WordPress very much but when I come across poems such as yours it is a pleasure to return. Have a most delightful day and stay safe in this unpredictable world that we now fine ourselves living in.

  6. Love, that ever increasing energy, that freedom of wanting, that innermost feeling that overwhelms ones existence. Tapping into the depths of romanticism and thoughts of perpetual sweetness are every man or woman’s dream.

Setting the wheel of time into motion through all of its many complexities and pushing the boundaries to all new heights seem impossible to achieve and yet with an inventive mind and a heart of pure emotion one can reach out and touch upon these images and remodel them.

A journey of the past, of the present and of the future, realised by love in its essence.

I love your poem my dear ❤
